Bright and colourful pictorial covers with Peter and his Pa; Pa seems to be showing Peter how to do a hat-trick; Pa's hat is a top hat and Peter's isn't. The book shows only relatively light bumping and wear to corners and the hinges are a little loose, but the front-free endpaper has been rudely ripped out. Black and white pictorial endpapers and interior drawings, charming full-colour plates including one on the title page with red lettering. The dustjacket has the same colour illustration on the front and back as the boards. Front dj panel has serious soiling at the edge and a chunk torn out at bottom corner which took with it Peter's tail. Since the boards are clean and bright I prefer this collectible little book without it's jacket.
