Author Name Greene, Graham & Hugh Greene Title The Spy's Bedside Book Book Condition Very Good Jacket Condition Very Good Type Hardcover Edition First Edition/Second Impression Publisher London Rupert Hart Davis 1957 Seller ID 1079 This very scarce handbook for the spy is a collaboration between two by now famous practitioners and acclaimed fiction writers of the spymaster genre. The illustrated wrap-around cover by A. S. Douthwaite is stunning and in itself worth collecting. This is the second impression in the first year of publication: 1957. Navy blue cloth boards still quite fresh with only a slight bump to lower rear tip, silver-stamped titles to spine, front-free endpaper has traces of glue, though this does NOT appear to be an ex-library copy and has no such stamp or mark, the front flap is intact with the price at bottom corner covered with a small paper insignia of the British Book Center. The jacket shows shelfwear and chips at extremities, three very small incipient closed tears, now protected in a new, clear Brodart cover. An intriguing anthology with some very unexpected authors. Graham Green is known for so many fine books including; Our Man in Havana, The Heart of the Matter, Brighton Rock and The Power and the Glory.
