Simon & Schuster 1947 First Edition Hardcover Folio - over 12" - 15" tall Edgar Starr Issued as a Big Golden Book; this is a 13" tall oblong in glossy bright yellow and blue pictorial boards with some slight delamination, Based on the story in the Walt Disney Movie "Fun and Fancy Free," which was itself based on the Sinclair Lewis story "Bongo." Wonderfully vivid pastedowns-endpapers of the circus, circus train, tents and large posters featuring the bear star Bongo. The lively and vibrant interior illustrations are a fine example of the "old" Disney style, as opposed to the new. This first printing has worn ends with the white canvas-cloth of the spine exposed beneath protective tape, one 2" impression, original owner's name to title page. This is still a great book with Bongo smiling from within a star on the back panel. Price: 45.00 USD
