Sutherland lll, and Others Incredibly scarce, almost mythic, TRUE FIRST edition; Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, Special Reference Work Dungeon Masters Guide, stated date May 16, 1979, Mike Carr TSR Games and Rules Editor, 132 pages, worn black cover painting shows an encounter between three adventurers and an efreet (red and holding a scimitar) on the Elemental Plane of Fire, bright yellow endpapers, front panel yellow corner banner printed red Advanced D&D, number at bottom of illustrated spine: 2011, illustrated back panel; corners of cover panels and spine-ends all quite bumped and worn, interior still quite clean and crisp; almost pristine, except for very first page which has two tiny dirt dots.. Gygax, Gary Monster Manual Lake Geneva, Wisconsin Tsr Games 1979 4th Printing Hardcover Oversize This Dungeons & Dragons Special Reference Work is the August 1979 Edition with the designated first cover: 112 pages, yellow banner and the appropriate colorful monsters depicted on front panel, and four illustrators including David C. Sutherland III who also drew the cover art. The interior is clean with only some small pencil underlines on the table of contents and a small pencil sketch with name on rear pastedown, the cover has curved, worn corners and spine-ends and is generally worn but the spine is intact and interior tight.
