Robert Redford based the character of Jeremiah Johnson on this Rocky Mountain trapper.The book itself is quite clean and almost crisp with maps on endpapers and pastedowns and a reddish-sepia toned photograph of the Crow-Killer on the reverse of front endpaper. Discrete and tasteful bookplate placed on back of half-title page.Top text-edge tinted the same sienna color as the photo , map-drawings and dust jacket. Dust jacket has three chips to top edge, tips and price of $3.75 intact at bottom of front flap, closed crease like a finger-tip abrasion on back panel, flap-corners have all been minimally and neatly trimmed, protected in a new, clear Brodart cover.
